Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be heading over a crucial meeting of the NITI Aayog today, where a “concrete shape” could be given to the country’s first-ever 15-year vision document for further accelerating all-round development, as per the sources.
According to reports, an official source has revealed that, the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog) will be making a presentation to be shown to PM on a study report and the document of the 15 year plan at this meeting.
Once the PM Modi will be done with sharing his views on the 15-year vision document, which would be prepared by NITI Aayog, its governing council, which is headed by the Prime Minister and also the comprising Chief Ministers, he is likely to meet to further review it at a later stage.
The much-awaited 15-year vision document has an aim to target inclusive development and also to eradicate poverty in the country.
PM Modi had announced to dismantle the Planning Commission and set up NITI Aayog in 2014.
Along with PM Modi, Union Ministers like Arun Jaitley (Finance) and Radha Mohan Singh (Agriculture) will also be taking stock of the NITI Aayog’s works but on a separate seven-year strategy paper from 2017-18 to 2023-24.
The NITI Aayog has on Wednesday held the consultations with the Chief Secretaries of the states to further discuss the vision, strategy and also action plan documents.
The 15-year- vision document could be finalized as a policy statement by the year-end.
