Pema Khandu becomes new leader of Congress in Arunachal Pradesh

In 2014, Pema Khandu served as the Minister of Tourism and Water Resources in Arunachal Pradesh. And now, after Chief Minister Nabam Tuki resigned, he has become the new leader of Congress Legislature Party (CLP) in Arunachal Pradesh. All this took place hours before the test run in the state.


The 37 year old is the eldest son of former Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu, who died in a helicopter crash in 2011.

The Assembly has now a consolidated strength of 58, where 11 are BJP and 2 are independent candidates.
