1. Recognize their feelings

If your partner sounds a bit low, your natural impulse is probably to counter or deny negative things they say about themselves or the world. Do not do this but instead, be there for them as a friendly ear offering encouragement and positivity.

2. Change perspective for them

This is not an excuse to be cruel to other people but for instance, if your partner or loved one sees someone and says, “Why cannot I be that skinny or tall or continuously compares themselves”, then just point out that they are perfect as they are. And even poke some stupidity at others. Like, “Have you seen the size of that person’s feet?

“I always learn so much from you”

This is a great compliment because it shows that you value them beyond their physical appearance.

Whilst it is important not to be too overbearing around them. If they see someone being assertive, generally feeling good about themselves and the things around them, they might start to do the same.

Physical touch between lovers has been shown to increase levels of dopamine and serotonin. These neurotransmitters are mood regulators which can help counter anxiety. When we hug someone, a hormone called Oxytocin is released in our body, which effectively reduces stress levels.

Also, a hug makes our blood pressure sink, and we experience less anxiety. So, take a stay-at-home and cuddle day with your significant other.
