BJP will appoint Om Birla as the new Lok Sabha Speaker on the second day of Monsoon session. Om Birla is the second time MP from Kota constituency in Rajasthan.

Wife of Om Birla was elated after she got the news of her husband becoming the successor of current Pro tem Speaker Virendra Kumar Khatik. She said “ This is a very proud moment for our family and I thank the members of cabinet for choosing him.

Know about your new Lok Sabha Speaker:

OM Birla took birth on 23rd November 1962. His father’s name is Shrikrishna Birla and his mother’s name is Shakuntala Devi. He completed his education in Rajasthan only and has the Masters degree in Commerce from the government college of Commerce in Kota and Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer.

The new speaker always had interest in politics and was active in Student Politics

He was an active member in students politics and had the interest of becoming a leader since college. For 12 years (1979 to 1991) he was the president of the student union. He became the President of Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha of Rajasthan and soon grabbed the Vice-President position at the national level.

After the immature politics, Mr. Birla was ready to go into the bigger battlefield. He contested in the Vidhan Sabha election from Kota South in 2003 and emerged victorious by defeating Shanti Dhariwal of Congress. He again contested from the same Legislative assembly in 2008 and defeated rival Congress candidate Ram Krishan Verma by 24,300 votes.

With enormous success in the Legislative Assembly Election, he went more big and won the MP seat from Kota in 2014 election. In the recent Lok Sabha election, the MP retained his seat.
