1.2 Kolkata Knight Riders Players tested positive, today’s match postponed

As of now, the match between RCB & KKR has been postponed. Notably, Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier have tested positive for COVID-19.

2. Delhi begins Vaccination for People above 18
Finally, Delhi has started the vaccination drive. People above 18 will now be able to get their vaccine jab. More than 45,000 people were given an appointment for the first shot of the vaccine. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia visited a vaccination centre in Vinod Nagar said, “Vaccination has started at 76 Delhi government schools today. We are hoping 100 per cent turnout.” Amid all chaos and crisis, this news came as a ray of hope. We all know that vaccination is the only way to defeat corona.
3.Complete Lockdown in India? Here is what Supreme Court Told the Centre
Amid an exponential rise in COVID 19 cases in India, experts are suggesting a nationwide lockdown. The Supreme Court has urged the Centre and states to consider imposing a nationwide lockdown to break the chain in the interest of public welfare. A three-member apex court bench, comprising Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice L Nageswara Rao and Justice Ravindra Bhat said, “It is important to make necessary arrangements for the marginalized communities if we consider to impose lockdown in India.”
4. 24 Patients Die in Karnataka hospital due to oxygen shortage
According to reports, 24 people died including covid-19 patients at the Chamarajanagar District Hospital in Karnataka due to the oxygen shortage in the last 24 hours. According to reports, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa spoke to the DM of Chamarajnagar and has called an emergency meeting tomorrow.
5. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia writes to Rajnath Singh, seeks Army’s help in dealing with the surge in the cases
India on Monday reported a slight dip in the cases as the country recorded 3, 68,147 new infections. Notably, Delhi has also begun the vaccination drive. More than 45000 people were given an appointment for the first shot of the vaccine. To tackle the surge in cases in Delhi, Manish Sisodia has written to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to seek Army’s help to set up, operationalize and run some of the facilities.
6. Edappadi K Palaniswami resigns as CM, Stalin to take oath on May 7
After a gap of 10 years, the DMK will finally return power in the state. The party, a part of the Secular Progressive alliance, alone won 124 seats and established leads in nine others in the 234 member House. As per the reports, Chief Minister Thiru MK Stalin will take an oath on May 7.
7. State Bank of India allocates 71 crores for the fight against Corona
The State Bank of India has allocated 71 crores to help combat the second wave of corona in India. The bank also dedicated ₹30 crores to set up 1,000 bed makeshift hospitals, 250 bed ICUs and 1,000 bed –isolation facilities in some of the worst-hit states.
