Election for the public bodies in Tripura started today with tight security arrangements.
Voters were seen waiting in long queues outside Election centres to cast their vote from early in the morning.
Voting started at 7 a.m. in the morning and many voters including women gathered early as they wanted to cast their vote before going to work or house hold tasks.
Over 5.24 lakh voters would decide the chance of a record breaking candidates-886 of all major political parties in the elections to Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats.
378 polling station have been recognized as category A whereas, 279 polling booths have been rated in B Category.
