The transgender community in Mumbai has practiced yogic exercises on the eve of the second day of International Yoga Day.
The UN has announced in 2014 that June 21 will be celebrated as the International Day of Yoga but this was only after adopting a measure proposed by India’s current Modi government. The day is celebrated by mass practice of Yoga and other healthy activities.
Ananya, a transgender participant said that it should be made regular, as a part of life.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi leads people to various Yogic exercises
A Yoga instructor, Samina Qazi has guided them through the exercises. Samina has said that, she has conducted this session, so that the transgender community gets to know about Yoga and she also hopes that they continue with this healthy practice.
Moreover, on the first yoga day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself led thousands of people through many yogic exercises at Rajpath in New Delhi.
This Yoga day also marked, the creation of two records: most nationalities (84) participating in a single yoga event and largest yoga class with 35,985 people.
According to an official video, this year more than 135 countries will participate in the International Day of Yoga across the world.
