Movie Review: Sanju is Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Masterpiece’

Kya Baba! Its Ranbir’s ‘Memorable Performance’

One man, many lives is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Sanjay Dutt.  Ever since the trailer of Sanju came out, there was a different level of excitement in the fans of Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt. Finally, today the film has hit the theatres. The film is written and directed by Rajkumar Hirani and biopic of Sanju is anything but honest.  The USP of the film is its narrative style. The film will give you the deep insight into the highs and lows of Sanjay Dutt’s life, which is nothing short of a roller –coaster ride.

The film nonchalantly blends humor with drama. The film doesn’t reveal much about the Sanju’s personal life. The film talks about the beautiful bond between a father and a son.  The major part of the film belongs to the unbreakable bond between father and son. Some of the most heart –wrenching and touching moments in the film belongs to them.

Talking about Ranbir’s performance, the actor shines in his character. Nobody could have done what Ranbir has done to this character. This is one of the finest performances of Ranbir Kapoor. The first half of the film is extremely gripping, with Sanju struggling with his internal demons.  Yes, few aspects of his life were missing from the film.  Sanjay Dutt’s real-life presents great material for a story and Hirani taps into some deep emotions that keep the audience hooked. Ranbir Kapoor has done justice to the character.  He has portrayed a variety of emotions and grey shades with flair.  Veteran actress Manisha Koirala has also made a comeback from this film. Though her role in the film is brief in the film, scenes between father, mother and son will move you to tears.

Wrapping it by saying, “Sanju is Rajkumar Hirani’s Masterpiece.” Yes, a lot of things are missing, but even then, this is an incredible story of a man who never gave up!
