Last ball six from Pandey took the match to superover in MIvsSRH
Manish Pandey last ball heroic six could only manage to take his team to super over in a MIvsSRH. 7 needed of the last ball and Manish Pandey hitting a six to Hardik Pandya for 6 over Long on was nothing less than extraordinary. However, the night was not meant to be Pandey’s as Jasprit Bumrah took his team over the line in super over. Jasprit gave only 8 runs in super over and got Inform Nabi out by a brilliant Yorker. Bumrah was awarded Man of the Match for his impressive figure of 4-0-31-2.
Rohit got his team to a good start
After winning the toss and surprisingly batting first, MI had a great start. Captain Rohit Sharma started well and score 24 runs and of 18 balls before getting out to Khaleel Ahmed. Wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock struggled to middle the ball whole innings and could only manage to score 69 runs of 58 runs.
MI scored 162-5 which was a little below par score but Mumbai bowling proved themselves good enough to stop Kane Williamson’s team. Apart from Pandey and Nabi Nobody was actually able to get a hang of Mumbai bowlers. SRH kept losing wickets at crucial stages but got saved by an amazing partnership between Nabi and Manish. 40 odd runs needed of last 18 balls seemed difficult as Bumrah and Malinga had an over each left. Pandey and Nabi played some good cricketing shots to play these 2 overs. The equation came to 17 needed to win in Hardik’s last over, Nabi and Manish held their nerves and tied the match.
MI have made their way to playoffs
With this win, MI are through to the final four.SRH has to win their last match against RCB to ensure a place in playoffs. Playing without the southpaw David Warner and destructive J Bairstow, SRH has enough bench strength to defeat the isolated RCB. MI will have their chance to avenge from KKR in their last match and ensure a place in the final two.
