The second form of Goddess Durga is called ‘Brahmacharini’, and she is worshipped on the second of Navratri or Dwitiya day of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin. Her name is derived from the word ‘Brahma’, which means ‘Tapa’ or penance. Brahmacharini is gorgeous and has good conduct. We observe nine forms of Maa Durga for the accomplishment of different desires. We can escape all the sorrows and tensions by worshipping Maa Durga and getting the contents.
Maa Brahmacharini has created the shastra like mahabal and mahavidya in108 forms of Maa Durga. She is considered the second most influential goddess. As Brahma is the founder of all Vedas and knowledge, Maa Brahmcharini represents all the Mantra and creation. She is the symbol of all knowledge in this perishable world. She holds a rosary in her right hand and Kamandalu in her left. She personifies love and loyalty. Rudraksha is her most adorned ornament.

YA DEVI SARVA BHUTESHU MAA BRAHMACHARINI RUPEN SANSTHITA NAMASTASYE NAMASTASYE NAMASTASYE NAMO NAMAH!!
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु माँ ब्रह्मचारिणी रूपेण संस्थिता। नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नम:।। दधाना कर पद्माभ्याम अक्षमाला कमण्डलू। देवी प्रसीदतु मई ब्रह्मचारिण्यनुत्तमा।। ॐ देवी ब्रह्मचारिण्यै नमः॥ ॐ देवी ब्रह्मचारिण्यै नमः॥
“It means saying, ‘Hey Maa, you are present everywhere, and you are famous and worshipped in the form of Maa Brahmcharini. I pray to you again and again.”
Brahmcharini holds a rosary in her right hand, while Kamandal is in her left hand. Full of merriment, Brahmacharini is worshipped on the second day of Durga Puja. She is the symbol of the power of tapa, which tells us that without doing tapa, it is impossible to get any happiness or siddhi. She flows the energy of tapa in the body of her devotees. This form of ‘Maa Durga’ gives her devotees many blessings. They develop feelings of patience, sacrifice, tapa, vairagya, and sadachar. It is believed that we are in the Swadhishthan Chakra on this very day.
