Shams Tabrez was beaten by Mob in Jharkhand

11 people have been arrested till now in the case

Eleven men have been arrested till now in the Mob Lynching case in Jharkhand’s Saraikela where Shams Tabrez died. The family of the victim alleged that Doctor along with police didn’t do their work properly. They didn’t do the proper checkup of the Tabrez when he was brought in to Police Station.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been asked to present a report on the incident by Wednesday to Home Secretary and Chief Secretary.

The family alleged that there were lapses during Doctor’s probe

The family said that they appealed to meet him asked for better treatment but police neglected the idea and the family also that the Shams Tabrez was dead before he was sent to Hospital.

“I don’t have father-in-law and mother-in-law, my husband was my only support now that he is gone how I would live my life. He was beaten only because he was a Muslim, I want justice for my husband” said, Tabrez’s wife Shahista Parveen.

He was attacked just five kilometers away from his home

The 24-year-old was attacked by a mob for allegedly stealing the bike when he was returning from Jamshedpur.  Shams along with other people were attacked barely five kilometers from home.

The victim was asked to say “Jai Shree Ram” and “Jai Hanuman” which he said to save his life but the mob kept beating him brutally after they tied him to pole. The police were informed when he became unconscious. He died in the police custody on 22nd June after 6 days of the beating.

The opposition in Bihar, the Congress has demanded 25 lakh and a government job as compensation for the wife of the victim.
