Jashn-e-Rekhta 2019 festival was organized between 13th to 15th December at National Stadium

Lyricist and poet Javed Akhtar, Delhi Vice Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and many famous personalities across fields graced the 6th  edition of Jashn-e-Rekhta, a literary festival. Javed Akhtar on Saturday at the event said that Sahir Ludhianvi, known for his fiery attitude while telling the truth through his poem and fighting for the right thing, was completely opposite in personal life. He added that saying him a good person could be a boring thing. “When he was good, there was no limit to his goodness and when he was angry with someone, then also he had no limit”, Mr. Akhtar said about Sahir Ludhianvi.

Delhi’s Vice Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia was also present at the festival. In a conversation with RJ Sayema, Mr. Sisodia talked about the change in the education system in the government schools of New Delhi.

Maithali Thakur mesmerized people with her soulful voice

Famous folk singer Maithili Thakur, who rose to fame by taking part in Rising Star in 2017 mesmerized people with her soulful voice. She sang various Hindi, Maithali and Bhojpuri songs for hundreds of young audiences.

Jashn-e-Rekhta is a three-day occasion of festivity that began in 2015. It is now grown to become the largest Urdu literary festival in the country. This year the festival was organized from 13th to the 15th of December at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium. The programs highlighted the Urdu poetry as well as the Urdu literature, calligraphy, Qawwali, such as Ghazals, recitations, Sufi music, film talks, panel discussions, calligraphy workshop and of course the food and shopping experience.

There were 14 shops showcasing various artefacts and arts related to the historical trajectory taken by the Urdu language. 17 bookstores were presenting books of the different themes- such as poetry, poses and other aspects of this language. 28 shops were installed to serve delicious food of different cuisine and categories. Four shops were present to give the visitors information about the newly launched products in this industry.
