Movie Review

Janhvi and Ishaan’s Performances

The film is full of vibrant colors and gloss. Both the actors are young and their chemistry is super fresh- which is a brownie point. The easy- breezy love story will make you laugh, mostly because of Ishaan’s light banters. Talking about performances, Ishaan kept it simple by not going overboard. In fact, he is like any other teenager who aspires for better things in life. On the other hand, Janhvi was looking ethereal in the film. Her outfits, makeup all was on point.  Keeping her accent aside, she was beautifully presented. Ishaan has displayed a wide range of emotions. Janhvi was good in the scenes which were typical Bollywood but she failed whenever it was about enacting pain.

Music of the film

Musicof Dhadak is its USP. The soothing and pleasant music of the film is perfect for the monsoon season. The lyrics are soulful and compositions are fresh. After a long time, you will get a break from the remake(except Zingat)songs are beautiful and they get 5 on 5

What it lacks?

Dhadak is the official remake of  Marathi hit Sairat. Sairat was a blockbuster and what makes Dhadak different from it was the complexity of relationships were more natural in Sairat. Another big difference between both the films is the treatment of male leads. The shy Parshya was a by-product of years of oppression and repression. On the other hand, Madhu is more or less vocal. The emotional scenes don’t work in the film. Candidly speaking Ishaan and Janhvi were not suitable for a rural setup.

Overall, the film is not that powerful but its a good watch. So this weekend, go watch the refreshing chemistry of Madhu and Parthavi. We rate it 2.5 stars!
