Innings story has created doubts in cricketing minds

MI defeated Chennai in IPL finals 2019 and claimed their 4th IPL trophy. The way match unfolded from beginning to end has raised doubts in people’s mind if the match was fixed? If there was any script to be written for the IPL finals, there couldn’t have been any better one than what happened last Sunday night.

This is the second time MI has got over the line by 1 run in IPL final. Mukesh Ambani’s team won 2017 title against RPS by 1 run. The way Dhoni got run-out, the way well-set Watson was running slow for the second run and got out has increased doubts in people’s mind about the credibility of IPL.

Fans can rejoice, there is no meddling with Cricket

All the cricket fans, don’t worry, the match was neither fixed nor scripted. It was just the T20 cricket extravaganza and the pressure of final which made it look scripted. Mumbai has one of the best bowling line-ups at Club cricket level across the world. J Bumrah bowled an amazing spell and Lasith Malinga last ball brilliant yorker sealed the match.

Shane Watson and IPL finals is an eternal love story

Chennai Super Kings needed 9 runs from the last over which they lost by 1 run. This is Chennai’s third loss against Mumbai in IPL finale. Dhoni’s run-out is considered to be the turning point of the game. However, Shane Waston tried hard to get his team over the fine. There is something about Watson and IPL finals. Last year, he scored a century in IPL finals and this time, he thrashed Mumbai Bowlers for 80 runs.

Mumbai is good at mathematics

Mumbai Indians seems to have a lot of belief in mathematics. 2013, 2015, 2017 and now in 2019. They have chosen to lift the trophy every alternate year. With this win,  Rohit Sharma’s team has become the most successful team in IPL along with its captain becoming the most successful in terms of IPL trophies.
