India hasn’t given any negative signal on not oil Imports from Iran


Iran said that they hope that India will act in their national interest and Tehran can act as the protector of India’s energy security. This comes after the US Sanctions on Iran and suggestion to India to not import oil from Iran.

Iran is ready for using barter, rupee or European mechanism for Oil trade

Iran can provide “security, affordability and accessibility” of energy to India, said Ali Chegeni who is Iran’s Ambassador to India. Iranian envoy also asserted that they are open to deal using rupee, barter and European mechanisms with all the country including India.

This comes after the visit of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to India where he assured India that USA is doing everything to ensure crude oil import reaches New Delhi in time even after the sanctions imposed by the USA on Iran.

Ali Chengini, Iran’s Ambassador to India said that Iran can provide the desired “Security, affordability and accessibility”

Ali Chengini in reference to the joint conference of India’s foreign minister S Jaishankar and Mike Pompeo said that “If India is looking for “security, affordability and accessibility” then I think Iran is the only country who can give all three things to India easily.

We expect that India is our friend and they will do what is good for the country’s interest and Iran is ready for being the protector of energy security of India” he added while he was addressing the reporters during India-Iran cultural event.

The ambassador also said that India might not be importing crude oil currently from Iran but they haven’t given any negative signal that they won’t be doing it in future too.
