India VS South Africa: South Africa comes with 2 captains for a toss in Ranchi Test


 INDvSA: Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, and Temba Bavuma were present at the toss

South Africa decided to come with 2 captains for Ranchi Test to change their fortunes at Toss. Temba Bavuma was used as a proxy captain to call for the toss. The move of sending the top-order-batsman did not work as Indian captain Virat Kohli won the toss again in the INDVSA tussle. The failed experiment of Proxy captain means that now South Africa have lost their 10th successive toss in Asia.

South African captain Faf du Plessis was unlucky in the first two matches as he lost toss in the first two matches of INDvSA. This is Plessis’s 7th successive toss loss in away games.

Virat Kohli had a smile on his face after proteas failed attempt of winning the toss with a proxy captain. The Indian captain shook hands with the South African’s captain who stood in disbelief and patted the back of Bavuma.

South African captain said that it is important to win tosses, especially on dry surfaces in the sub-continent. He said that his team will be looking to put up a good fight, especially in the important 1st innings. Notably, Faf du Plessis had earlier talked about sending a proxy captain against Virat Kohli to win the toss in the Ranchi INDvSA clash.

Virat after winning the toss decided to bat first but Du Plessis would be happy that he lost the toss. A brilliant spell by Kagiso Rabada and intelligent bowling of Anrich Nortje in the first hour limited India to 39-3. In-form Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara were blown away by beautiful bowling of Rabada while Norje took Virat Kohli’s wicket. This was the maiden wicket for the right-arm-fast bowler who is playing his second match.
