One of the most successful Bollywood Actresses of the 80s Meenakshi Seshadri celebrates her birthday today. A trained dancer in Classical Indian styles, she became Eve’s Weekly Miss India in 1981 at the age of 17.
After that there was no looking back. Making a debut in Painter Babu in 1983, her real breakthrough came starring opposite Jackie Shroff in Hero in the same year. After that she did a number of films, including Shahenshah opposite Amitabh Bachhan and Damini opposite Rishi Kapoor among others.
Damini was notable at the time, being a female centric film, giving her a powerful lead.
Settled in USA with her husband and children, she now runs a school teaching classical Indian dances.
Though she retired from the industry as soon as she got married in the 1990s, she still rules the hearts of her millions of fans.
