Guru Nanak Jayanti 2018 will be celebrated on November 23. It is also known as Gurunanak Prakash Utsav. It celebrates the birth of first Sikh Guru, Gurnanak Dev ji.  The festivities in the Sikh religion revolve around the anniversaries of the 10 Sikh Gurus. These gurus were responsible for shaping the beliefs of Sikhs. It is also known as Gurupurab. Guru Nanak is the founder of Sikhism. He always preached equality. He says everyone should be treated equally. And there should be no discrimination on the basis of cast and creed.

1. Respect Woman

He has given three guiding principles to lead a blissful life. 1. Vand Chhakkna – Always what you have with others. 2. Kirat Karna: Earn money honestly without fraud and exploitation. 3. Naam Japna– Always remember God and practice ceaseless devotion by constantly chanting his name.

4. Treat everyone equally

Everyone is equal and we should treat everyone with respect. That’s why he started the concept of   Langar. It promotes the concept of Equality. There should be no discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, and religion.

5. There is one God

His teachings say that there is only one God who is the supreme and the ultimate reality. He is beyond time and is self-created. He reveals himself to the created beings through his own grace.
