Khush Khabri: Hospitals in Telangana begin serving a meal at ₹5

From now on, attendants of patients at 18 government hospitals in the state can have meals just for ₹5. Health Minister T Harish Rao, on May 12, 2022, launched the subsidized meals scheme at Osmania government hospital’s orthopaedic block.
Good news: Monthly pension for cancer patients: Haryana
Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced that his government would provide a monthly pension of ₹2500 to the patients suffering from stages 3 and 4 cancer, thalassemia and haemophilia.
Khush Khabri: Smart Anganwadi: Kerala
Kerala’s first ‘smart’ Anganwadi was inaugurated on May 4 in Thiruvananthapuram. It has a study room, lounge, dining, kitchen, indoor and outdoor play area with artificial grass, a garden, toys, and a hall.
Good news: Regulation on private schools: Delhi
The Delhi Government has restricted private schools from forcing students and parents to buy books and uniforms from specific vendors and stores selling them at higher prices. Schools can no longer earn a commission for sales.
Khush Khabri: Mobile veterinary Services at doorstep: Centre
The union minister of fisheries, animal husbandry, and dairying inaugurated mobile veterinary units in Karnataka to provide services at the farmer’s doorstep based on the phone calls received at the Call Centre from the farmers.

West Bengal announced provisions for students who left Ukraine. The state wants to ensure that they are taken care of, from admissions to colleges to providing employment opportunities to final-year students.

According to Zitango travel’s data, people searched for the Taj Mahal more than any other UNESCO World Heritage site globally. One of the world’s seven wonders, the mausoleum had 14 lakh searches in a month!
In January 2022, over 10000 people visited the Taj Mahal on a single Saturday.

Indian railways have introduced a baby berths facility to create an excellent convenience for parents and infants. These berths are foldable and also have stoppers.
The facility was launched on a trial basis. Lucknow division of northern railways introduced this kind of berth on an experimental basis in Coach No. B4 of Train no. 194129, berth no. 12 and 60.
Khush Khabri: Sherpa woman climbs Everest for 10th time.
A Nepali woman climbed Mount Everest for the 10th time. Lhakpa Sherpa broke her record for the most summits of the world’s highest mountain by a female climber. The last time Sherpa climbed Everest was in 2018.

Indian golfer Diksha Dagar outplayed American Ashlyn Grace in the final to bag a gold medal at the Deaflympics, fulfilling her promise of improving upon the silver-winning performance at the 2017 edition.
Dagar is now the only golfer with 2 Deaflympics medals.
