The holy Rath Yatra commences today

The holy Rath Yatra which is also known as Gundicha Yatra of Lord Jagannath and his siblings locally, began today. President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished the people of India through twitter.

The official Twitter account of President of India tweeted “Greetings and good wishes to fellow citizens on the auspicious occasion of Rath Yatra. May the blessings of Lord Jagannath bring peace, happiness and prosperity to everyone’s lives.”

Serving his second term as the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi wrote on his official twitter handle “Best wishes to everyone on the special occasion of the Rath Yatra. We pray to Lord Jagannath and seek his blessings for the good health, happiness and prosperity of everyone. Jai Jagannath.”

Amit Shah offered prayers In Jagannath temple in Ahmedabad

Union Minister Amit Shah offered prayers at Lord Jagannath Temple in Ahmedabad, Gujrat. The first time union minister Amit Shah was seen doing the Aarti in front of the Lord Jagannath. The official page of BJP released a video on twitter showcasing the former BJP President offering prayers.

Nicely crafted chariots and decorated three deities are main attractions in Rath Yatra

Three chariots are prepared every year for Lord Jagannath, Devi Subhadra and Lord Balabhadara who are carried on sacred chariots. The main attractions of the Rath Yatra are nicely crafted chariots, decorated three deities which is accompanied by the loud chants from the people.
