Google has changed its Doodle to celebrate the beginning of FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019.  The eighth edition of FIFA Women’s World Cup kicks off on Friday. Google has published Doodle with a collage of women representing different Jerseys.  Notably, the opening match of the tournament will be played between South Korea and the host nation France on Saturday in Paris.

Here are all the important details you need to know!

1.24 Countries are taking part in the World Cup. It will be played in nine cities over the next month in France.

2. The Finals will take place on July 7 in the city of Lyon. This year four teams are making their debut in the FIFA Women’s World Cup- Chila, Scotland, South Africa, and Jamaica

3. The official mascot of the tournament is Ettie, the French Poussin. The prize money for the tournament is $30Million.  Interestingly, FIFA has doubled Prize money since the 2015 World Cup that was held in Canada. Still, it remains a fraction of the $400 million that was awarded during the Men’s World Cup 2018

4. In the league, the top two games in every six qualifying groups will advance to knockout stages, where they will be joined by the four best third- places teams.
