The ex-IMF chief, Rodrigo Rato, has been arrested. The former Spanish chief of International Monetary Fund is being investigated for a tax fraud.
Under this circumstances, a Spanish Magistrate has frozen Rato’s assets that are worth 18 million Euros and also his IMF pension.
This judgement came when Rato was unable to pay the penalty payments. He has denied being involved in any wrongdoings. Further investigation in this matter is on, which will show us if Rato is actually guilty or not.
