The inventor of cricket will look to win their maiden world Cup title

After almost 45 days of exciting cricket, we are finally into the finale of the World Cup of 2019. 8 of the total 10 teams found disappointed including India, Australia and Pakistan. Before the World Cup started England was the strong contender of World Cup title but nobody expected New Zealand to make it this far.

New Zealand did unthinkable by reaching finals, this time they would eye World Cup title

New Zealand started very nicely in the World Cup and didn’t lose their first 5 matches on the trot. They lost their way in the last few matches of the group stage but somehow landed in the semifinal with the help of other teams. They did unthinkable and defeated India by defending by a low score. This will be their second ODI World Cup final after 2015.

Hosts were the favourite since the beginning

England was called the best team in the World Cup before it started and they proved it by reaching the finale. Their journey was a little bumpy in this World Cup. They lost few matches against unexpected opponents and once there were questions over qualifying for the semifinals. However, they picked up the pace at the right time and now they are about to clinch their maiden World Cup title.

Head to Head against each other:

Both the teams have played 9 matches till now in the World Cup in which England has won 4 and Kiwis have won 5. In overall 90 ODI games between these two countries, blackcaps have won 43 and hosts have won 41. 4 games ended in no-result and 2 were tied.  Looking at the records both teams are neck to neck but current form makes the Eoin Morgan’s team favourites.
