Economic slowdown in india 2019 : Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Saturday said that three movies generated business of 120 crores in a day suggesting that there is no economic slowdown.  He said, ‘War’, ‘Joker’ and ‘Sye Raa’ earned a record 120 crore on 2nd October. He added, had economy not been sound, how a return of 120 crores was possible?

Ravi Shankar Prasad was in Mumbai to campaign for Assembly polls when he spoke to the media about economic slowdown. He also said that measurement of the International Monetary Fund was incorrect. The measurement suggested that economic slowdown was more pronounced this year in India and Brazil.

He dubbed the NSSO report wrong which stated the unemployment rate at a 45-year high in 2017.  The NSSO (National Sample Survey Office’s) report said that the rate was this high in 1972-73 and 2.2 per cent in 2011-12.
