Airlines will soon revise flight ticket cancellation fee structure: Here is all you need to know
According to a report, the Domestic airline industry has revised its ticket cancellation fee structure. Notably, this move would come as a respite to flyers especially to those who book their tickets well in advance to get cheap tickets, said Yatra. Com COO Sharat Dhall.
This change comes after civil aviation regulator DGCA wrote to the airlines on the issue of revising its ticket cancellation fee structure. As per a report, Sharat Dhall, COO of Yatra.com in an interview said, “In a move that will definitely make the passenger happy, domestic airlines have revised their cancellation charges and shall now charge base fare plus fuel surcharge or Rs.3000 per passenger, whichever is lower.”
The revision in ticket cancellation fee structure will also help the customers who are traveling on shorter routes where the fares are lower than Rs. 3,000. Notably, it will also lower the customers’ grievances which are largely around the issue of quantum of charges levied of cancellation of tickets.
Well, this a welcome change and now you need to worry about the cancellation charges. Isn’t a great news?
