Diwali 2018: 5 Important Life Lessons to learn from this festival

The Diwali week has already begun. Diwali 2018 will be celebrated on November 7, 2018. It is known as the festival of lights and it is one of the important Hindu festivals. It is celebrated to mark the arrival of Lord Rama (incarnation of Lord Vishnu) and Goddess Sita ( incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi) from the exile of 14 years. With the passage time, the essence of festivals has faded away. Today, there is so much hatred and jealousy all around the world. To make this world a better place we all need to put efforts. Here are 5 important life lessons to learn from this festival.

Diwali 2018

1. Never lose your patience

Every ordeal comes to an end. Nothing lasts forever so never lose your patience when something goes wrong. If you know that you are on the right part keep moving without worrying about the results.  Lord Rama kept his patience intact during his bad times and we should learn this art from him.

2. Eternal Peace is in sharing the joy with others

Lord Rama always preached sharing and caring. He firmly believed that everybody should be treated equally. We all buy sweets and gifts for our loved ones on Diwali. There is a lesson behind it that whatever extra we have should be shared with less privileged people. In the inner world whatever we share increases and whatever we hoard decreases. So do not forget to share love and joy with others this Diwali.

3.  Make a new beginning

It is never too late to start fresh. Resolve grudges, spread love, and peace all around. If you want to start a new business, a new relationship, want to take a new resolution, then Diwali is the best day. Take a determined resolution to begin something positive in your life. Pray to Lord Rama and Goddess Sita to guide to live a spiritual life.

4. Clean your hearts

Diwali is the festival when we all clean our house to welcome Goddess Lakshmi. But we actually forget to clean our hearts. Do not hold on to any grudges, don’t be jealous and say bye -bye to your ego. Be more loving and less egoistic.

5. Light a Diya to remove darkness from your soul

The festival of  Diwali is celebrated to remove darkness. Try to remove darkness from your soul this Diwali. Let the light of wisdom remove the inner darkness and help us to attain eternal peace just like Lord Rama.
