Deepika Padukone lights up the 5th Times Literature Festival in Delhi


Deepika Padukone came to Times Literature Festival to unveil the book Sridevi: Girl Woman Superstar

Deepika Padukone graced the 5th Times Literature Festival at Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi.  She came to the country’s most celebrated Literature Festival to unveil the book Sridevi: Girl Woman Superstar, written by Satyarth Nayak. Husband of late Bollywood superstar, Boney Kapoor was also present at the book launch. Boney while speaking about Sridevi, got emotional and broke into tears. Deepika consoled and hugged her as she was standing next to him when Boney got all teared up.


Deepika Padukone remembered those days when Sridevi used to send her personal messages for every movie she did. Deepika said that Sridevi used to praise her for her performances.  She also said that Boney Kapoor and Sridevi are the real champions of her work. She candidly added that people do not know about her bond with Sridevi but she was very fond of her.

The Padmavat actress said that she was honoured to unveil the book on Sridevi’s life as she was one of her most favourite person apart from being a celebrated actress.

Gauri Shinde and writer Satyarth Nayak was also present at the Times Literature Festival

The writer of book Satyarth Nayak said that the book pays a tribute to the gorgeous Sridevi. The book will delve deep into Sridevi’s iconic body of work in Hindi and South cinema.

Gauri Shinde, who directed the Mr India actress in English Vinglish was also present at the book launch.

The Times Literature Festival has risen to become one of the leading literature festivals in India. The festival provides an electrifying platform for a lively exchange of views on literature, ideas, books. It is a platform where exchange of views celebrating the written word becomes the talk of the town and sets agenda for debate.
