Ramayana will be a trilogy and release in 3D in three languages


Producers Allu Aravind, Madhu Mantena and Namit Malhotra are producing the epic ‘Ramayana’ for the big screen. This will be a trilogy which will be directed by Dangal famed Nitesh Tiwari and Ravi Udyawar. The first movie of the franchise is expected to be released in 2021. It will be released in 3D and in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

This is a Pan India project which will feature actors from various Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, and Punjabi film industries. It is estimated that the estimated budget for the live-action trilogy will be 500 crores.

Famous Indian Trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to announce the big news. He Wrote “BIGGG NEWS… Producers Allu Aravind, Madhu Mantena and Namit Malhotra [Prime Focus] to make #Ramayana for the big screen… Nitesh Tiwari [#Dangal] and Ravi Udyawar [#Mom] will direct the three-part series… Will be shot in 3D and released in #Hindi, #Tamil, and #Telugu.”

Directors feel the heat on making a movie on Indian mythology

“Dangal” Director Nitesh Tiwari said that “It is a huge responsibility to make a film based on the holy book as it is an anRamayana integral part of the Indian Culture.” He also that “They are making sure that whatever the film shows has the stamp of authenticity.”

“Mom” famed Udyawar is excited to work on the mega project. He said ‘This is the story we have been listening since kids by our parents and grandparents which I passed on my children. We all know the story of Rama, Sita, and Raavan but it’s the uniqueness of the storytelling which will bring the audience to the table. I will do everything I have learned so far in the industry to make it engaging, fun and loving yet keeping it real.
