CSK has an edge, playing at their spin-friendly wicket in MI vs CSK clash
After 45 days of cricket extravaganza, we are finally into the playoffs. The first match of Playoff will be played between the two top teams MI vs CSK. CSK is ready to take on Mumbai Indians on their home ground. This will be the last match for defending champions at their home. Earlier, the final match was scheduled in Chennai but due to few stands not available to open during the match, it was moved to Hyderabad.
Chennai has quality spinners
Chennai is a super strong and experienced team and has the players who can keep the nerve for finals. The pitch at MA Chidambaram Stadium has been spinning a lot this season and Dhoni’s team has three quality spinners in playing eleven. R Jadeja, Imran Tahir, and Harbhajan Singh. Mitchell Santner sitting on the bench shows how strong CSK’s spin bowling is.
Top order is a big-time concern for CSK
The top order is still a concern for Thala’s team. Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis hasn’t been really going this season apart from one or two innings. Ambati Raydu isn’t in best of his form which also became the reason for his eviction form World Cup squad. However, MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina have scored runs for the team at crucial stages. Since 2018, we have seen a different Thala in IPL. He has a strike rate of about 300 in 20th over of the innings. But if you have world class player like Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis in the team, you never know when will they fire. We saw Shane Watson scoring a century in the IPL final 2018 and du Plessis playing a match-winning innings in Qualifier in 2018.
Mumbai can pack a punch with their fast pace in MI vs CSK
Rohit Sharma’s team has finished top in league matches and has the right balance to fight out. Mumbai have defeated Chennai twice in league matches defending the low score. Mumbai has one of the best bowling attacks. Jasprit Bumrah, Mitchell McClenaghan and Lasith Malinga are taking the responsibility of fast bowling. R Chahar and Krunal Pandya will try to exploit the spin the dry pitch of Chennai Super Kings. Mumbai’s team is struggling to find the correct combination in Middle order. They have tried I Kishan, E Lewis, and Yuvraj Singh. Captain Rohit Sharma hasn’t been able to score runs to his potential.
