Congress will not be a part of TV debates anymore


Congress barred their spokespersons for a month for an undisclosed reason

After the humiliating defeat in Lok Sabha Election and political uncertainty within the party, Congress has decided to stay away from TV debates for a month. Congress leader and communications-in charge Randeep Singh Surjewala informed the Media and requested not to place any Congress representatives on their shows for a month.

Randeep Singh Surjewala took to Twitter to disseminate the decision

He wrote “.@INCIndia has decided to not send spokespersons on television debates for a month. All media channels/editors are requested to not place Congress representatives on their shows”. on Twitter Sunday morning.

Rahul Gandhi resignation and internal political uncertainty may have led this decision

This comes after Congress President Rahul Gandhi offering to step down from the post of President. Winner of Wayanad constituency in recently concluded in Lok  Sabha Election offered his resignation in the CWC meeting held a few days before. Even though his resignation was accepted by the CWC members, he is still intact on his decision to step down. Although, he still will be an active contributor to the party.

Makeover in the party may be on cards

At this situation when Congress fate is uncertain, the party would have thought not sending any spokesperson would be better. This decision has led some of the political pundits to believe that Congress will see a makeover in coming times to bring back their winning days.

Congress lost the 17th Lok Sabha Election by a big Margin

Congress took a humiliating defeat in the recent election where they could only gather 52 seats out of 543. NDA got 543 seats where BJP alone got 303 seats.
