Ranjan Gogoi said he came to know about the letter in newspaper

The Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi has asked the Supreme Court registry to provide him a report on why the letter of Unnao Rape Survivor reached to the court and not to him.

The Unnao Rape Survivor has allegedly written a letter to CJI two weeks before to the accident. She wrote about the threat and danger to her life by the accused person in the case.

“I read in the newspaper today that the Unnao Rape Survivor had written a letter to the SC.  I got the information about the letter this morning. I got the information about the letter on Tuesday. The letter has not been placed before me and I haven’t seen the letter.” said Ranjan Gogoi.

Earlier, Victim’s mother had earlier filed a transfer petition in SC in January seeking the transfer of the case from Lucknow to New Delhi. She said that family was in danger and they would not get a fair trial in UP.

The Supreme Court will hear the petition on Thursday on the mishandling of the Unnao case.  The medical report of the victim is likely to be presented in the hearing.

The rape survivor is battling for her life in hospital

The 19-year-girl is currently fighting for her life in the hospital after the accident. BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh who is in Jail presently allegedly raped the girl in 2017 when she was just 17 years old.

Earlier, the survivor was hit by Truck when she was travelling to Rae Bareli to meet her uncle. Two Aunts died and she along with her lawyer got seriously injured in the accident.  Later, the Truck was identified as the property of Samajwadi Party leader Nadu Pal’s Brother Devendra Pal.
