Christmas 2018: What is a secret Santa and how play it? 

Oh! The most loved season of the year is again here. Yes, its December, the year is soon going end. But before that, we will be celebrating Christmas. The festive vibe is already there, and we just can’t wait. As Christmas 2018 is around the corner, we all are excited about our secret Santa. Well, Christmas is celebrated all across the globe with utmost zeal and enthusiasm. The festival is meant for spreading love and peace. But one thing that takes our excitement to a whole new level is – Secret Santa. So, what is secret Santa? How it is played and what are rules?

Secret Santa is a Christmas tradition. Members of a group of friends, family or co-workers draw random names to become someone’s secret Santa.  The Secret Santa is given a wish list of gift ideas to choose from to give to their chosen giftee. After opening their gift, the giftee has to guess who has given them that gift. The guessing part is really fun.

Rules to play Secret Santa

1. Let everyone write their gift suggestions

Yes, let everyone pen down their gift suggestions. Tell people to be specific so this would make everybody’s task easy. This way people will get what they actually want.

2. You can also plan a gift exchange party

Where people can exchange gifts. Make sure every gift is tagged with the recipient’s name, but not the gifter’s. This guessing game would be fun.

3. Draw names to randomly assign a secret Santa to each player

To maintain the excitement level select names randomly. This is a fun part, let’s see whose Christmas you will be making special.
