Chennai floods: NDRF shifts spotlight to relief and rescue work in Chennai, over 16,000 people rescued

NDRF has now shifted its main aim in rescue and relief work for the people of Chennai and will deploy its teams with the aim to convince people to leave their homes and move to safer areas.

Providing relief work on large scale, NDRF DG OP Singh added that the action included more than 1500 soldiers and over 200 inflatable boats are still at work saving the life of people.

Special trains are announced and flight services are expected to continue from today. Meanwhile, support has been coming across the country to Chennai as relief funds, supplies and services are making their way to the affected areas of Chennai.
