6 reasons to watch Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui
Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui is finally in theaters now. The film stars Ayushhmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor and here is our quick review of the film that you should not miss. Well, when it comes to the selection of films, Ayushhmann Khurrana has aced this game. Coming up with hatke topics is his unique selling point and that is what makes him Ayushmann Khurrana.
Watching his films anyway means getting an altogether different angle in life, love and relationships. Whether playing a gay character in Shubh Mangal Savdhan to dealing with body shaming in Bala or talking about rights in Article 15. Ayushmann Khurrana never fails to impress his audience.
After a year, Ayushhmann Khurrana is back with another rom -com but with a twist ( Kyunki Uske bina Maza kaisa?) . The story revolves around a couple, Manvindal Munjal aka Mannu (Ayushhmann Khurrana), a fitness enthusiast who had a crush on Zumba instructor Maanvi (Vaani Kapoor). Gradually, they start falling for each other and come into a relationship.
Without giving you a spoiler alert, we are giving you 6 reasons to watch the film. We loved it and highly recommend it to you. To set your weekend mood right, this film is a must watch!
1. It is normal yaar!
The story is new and Indian cinema has always presented the LGBTQ+ community as comic or as a matter of sympathy (We are again not talking about Shubh Mangal Zada Savdhan). In this film, makers have tried to convince the audience that a trans girl or boy can lead a normal life sexually, emotionally, physically, and mentally.
2. It is all about acceptance:
Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui is not only about the acceptance of Trans girls by society. It is about a straight boy who is struggling to accept a Trans girlfriend, a Muslim stepmother, and life may not be normal. Fighting with society, family, and one’s own emotions.
3. Punch lines:
The movie comes with some really good punch lines, humor, and comedy.
4. Good supporting cast:
The movie was supported by a good supporting cast. Some new faces Gourav Sharma and Gautam Sharma were introduced. They were playing the best pals of Mannu. Tanya Abrol, as Preet portrays a loudmouth sister of Mannu. The Chak De India girl has been given a role to remember after a long time. Kanwalijit Singh is a supportive father of Maanvi.

5. What is the right thing to do?
Here Mannu takes the help of counseling, therapy to know more about Trans girls. In this film, the writer is also giving people the right sources to know about the community. What a person should do if/she is dealing with such a situation.
6. Vaani was surprised:
Surprisingly, it was very impressive in this movie. She fits in the skin of a Trans girl very beautifully. After a long time, Vaani gets a role to remember.
With many positive points, we walked out of the theater with some bone tickling punch lines but not so very amazing songs. The Indian audience likes to groove on soothing songs or item numbers. Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui still had space for better songs. You may not remember any rhythm or beats once you get up from the seats.
Gear up to overdose on Love. Laughter. Drama and all things beautiful! ?

Although Vaani has pulled off the character very well, we would appreciate it more if a real trans girl would have casted for the role. It would have molded the character more towards reality. It is high time to match the action with the words. But to simply put – It’s good to see the change, at least we are talking and making an effort.
Our rating for the movie will be 4/5 stars.
The film is releasing today in cinemas. You cannot get it on any OTT platform as of now. Directed by Abhishek Kapoor. The story is written by Abhishek Kapoor, Supratik Sen, and Tushar Paranjpe.
