ATC acquits 5 accused in the Benazir Bhutto Murder case


An Anti-Terrorism Court in Pakistan has finally declared its verdict on Benazir Bhutto murder case. The Court has acquitted five Tehreek- i- Taliban Pakistan Suspects and announced 17 – year – imprisonment for two Police officials.

Notably, ATC has also declared Gen Parvez Mushraff an absconder in the case. The ATC had named Musharraf in the case in February 2011.

According to reports, a Pakistani Court will announce the verdict in the murder case of Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto today after about a decade.

Notably, Anti – Terrorism Court ( ATC) Judge Ashgar Ali Khan reserved the verdict on Wednesday after conduction day – to –day proceedings in the case, as per reports.

Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Azhar Chaudhary in his concluding arguments has disowned prosecution audio record of banned TTP ( Tehreek- I –Talibaan) with a cleric in which he was congratulating five terrorists on carrying out the successful attack on Benazir Bhutto. He has termed it as a “Fake Story” which was fabricated by former President retired General Parvez Musharraf to mislead the investigators.

FIA chief has claimed that General Parvez Musharraf with the help of his aide Brigadier Javed Iqbal Cheema, had dispersed the fake evidences in order to save himself.

Notably, Musharraf was accused of conspiring to kill Benazir Bhutto because he perceived her as threat for his rule. Benazir Bhutto was killed at a poll campaign rally on 11th December 2007. Notably, she was the 11th Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Well, t the court will announce its verdict today, and then it will resume its trial against Musharraf after his return to Pakistan.
