Alia Bhatt will not cast her vote in Elections 2019
People in India always look up to Bollywood Stars- from following their diet plans to their fashion statement, fans in India showed a lot of love on their favorite actors. A lot of B- town celebs work for social cause and their one step inspire millions of people out there. General Elections 2019 has already begun. From April 18 poling for the second phase will begin. In that case, some of our B- Town celebs will also cast their vote. But you will be shocked to know that our Raazi girl Alia Bhatt will not cast her vote.
Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had requested Bollywood celebs and other personalities to urge people to access their voting right. On which Alia Bhatt took to her Twitter account and urged people to go out and vote. She wrote, “A Vote is the nation’s voice. A Nation’s choice. Use your voice and make your choice. #Vote #Election2019.”
However, Kalank actress would not be using her own voice this election. Recently, during an interview, Alia was questioned whether she was going to vote this election. The actress replied that she cannot vote.
Alia revealed that she cannot vote because she doesn’t hold an Indian Passport as she and her mother Soni Razdan are British citizens. Notably, India doesn’t allow dual citizenship. She cannot cast her vote in India until she gives up her British citizenship.
During the previous Lok Sabha Elections when she was asked about voting. She had said that she will try to get her voting card done in the next polls. It seems the actress didn’t get time.
There are other B-town celebs also who holds who can’t vote. Some of them are Deepika Padukone and Akshay Kumar. They don’t have Indian citizenship.
