Annu Kapoor delivered a rib-tickling performance in Dream Girl and Siddhant Chaturvedi won heart as MC Sher
The cinema is changing day by day. Producers are moving to more content-driven films rather than masala fims. Same way, not only the films are changing but also the story-telling is changing. The entire scenario in cinema has changed as writers are no more restricted to hero and heroine but now stories are written about their family, friends and colleagues. A film can’t be great until it has good supporting cast. In this article, we will look at 5 best supporting roles in Bollywood 2019.
Siddhant Chaturvedi- Gully Boy
Gully boy is one of the best films of 2019. The movie isn’t just special because it is a hard hitting tale that turns into star vehicle for Ranveer Singh and Zoya Akhtar nails the story of a Dharavi boy who has big dreams but also because of talented supporting casts. Siddhant Chaturvedi nails the role of MC Sher and he never lets you feel that you are not in the amazing rap-world.
Soham Majumdar- Kabir Singh
Soham Majumdar (Shiva) while playing the second fiddle Shahid Kapoor (Kabir Singh) in Kabir Singh puts life into the film with some quirky jokes. Who could forget his “Show some bloody respect to the champion) dialogue from the movie. The character of Shiva- a true friend of Kabir Singh shows that a real friend never leaves his friend any matter how destroyed he is.
Manoj Pahwa – Article 15
Manoj Pajhwa gave a brilliant performance in last year in Mulk, this year he repeats in even better way in Article 15 while playing police officer as Brahmdatt Singh. He understands the role of a small town cop very well which reflects in his performance.
Zaira Wasim – The Sky is Pink
Zaira Wasim is the soul of “The Sky is Pink”. She plays a teenager who is diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis- a condition where lungs become scarred over time. She will make you laugh, she will make you cry, but you will love this film to your core because of this little girl.
Annu Kapoor – Dream Girl
Lots of comedy movies were made this year, but Dream Girl is hilarious and so is Annu Kapoor. He plays Jagjeet Singh in the film but real comedy comes when he coverts his religion to Islam and communicates in Urdu. He delivers a rib-tickling performance and probably his one of the best in a comic role.
