Xiaomi recently unveiled its Mi Mix
Xiaomi caught media and the rest by surprise when launched Mi Mix along with introduction ceremony of Mi Note 2 features. The device was kept a secret from all and will apparently; serve the purpose of proving the world that Xiaomi is a technically sound company and not just a copy-cat.
Initially, the device was introduced as a concept device and as the event proceeded company’s CEO, Lei Jun was making the people aware of the magical design and specifications of it’s latest flagship. The smartphone seller which was much criticised for copying other brands like recently Mi Note 2 was said to be manufactured on the lines of now demised Samsung’s Note 7 is attempting to change its image through Mi Mix.
Although, biggest similarity between the two was their double curve edges which company had planned since Xiaomi Note’s launch.
Mi Mix is a trophy product that Xiaomi needed to help turn heads and try to break the impression of being a low-end player. IDC analyst Bryan Ma said, “But this alone won’t do it. Perceptions take time to change.”
Ma added by saying, “My biggest takeaway from Xiaomi’s recent high-end product launches is that they are trying really hard to show the world that they are not pigeonholed into just cheap phones. Competitive pressure from the likes of Huawei, Oppo and Vivo probably is a factor here too.”
Mi Mix is undoubtedly a near perfect phone which will definitely catch the eyeballs of many prospective Xiaomi customers in China. The smartphone’s international existence is still in doubt but for now, let’s enjoy Mi Note 2.
