Bollywood needs some positive characters
Now – a -days, Bollywood has got a viral of highlighting controversial characters. We all have a lot of craze for our stars. We admire them for their positive roles but controversial characters shown in movies are not worthy of being a role model for the people of our society.
On this weekend, a movie called ‘Daddy’ is releasing, which is based on a gangster turned politician, Arun Gawli. The actor, Arjun Rampal is leading in this role and he also co-written the movie with the director. Notably, Arjun has once again worn the producer’s hat.
A lot of hard work, time and money have been given in the making of this film, and then why always controversy is kept a part of it?
Another upcoming movie from Bollywood is (Haseena Parker), Shraddha Kapoor is playing the role of gangster Davood Ibrahim’s sister. This movie is being made solely to revive the flop career of her brother, siddhanth, who is playing the character of Dawood.
Actually, this trend started with the film makers like Mahesh Bhatt and Ram Gopal Verma making successful movies, highlighting such characters. Movies like Satya(1998), Company(2002), and Naajayaz(1995) were not successful at the box office but due to these films and the characters has started the trend of making movies on controversial characters.
Notably, Bollywood has the history of film makers like Manoj Kumar, Guru Datt, Raj Kapoor, Yash Chopra and Subhash Ghai, who have made many successful movies without this controversial character. These directors are the inspiration for today’s film makers of Bollywood. There are a lot of positive characters in the history of films, who had an interesting and inspiring enough life to be portrayed on the screen.
Actually, our Bollywood movies and their characters leave a lot of impact on today’s youth and towards the nation as well. Inspiration should be taken from the movies like Toilet Ek Prem Katha, Dangal, Neerja, M.S Dhoni, Sultan and Airlift, which were huge hits and didn’t need any controversy to be successful.
