AR and VR to become next-gen computing platforms

Technology to bring transformation in computer markets, AR and VR to become next- gen superstars

Technology is an ever-growing field. Every now and then a new technology is invented in order to make our life and experiences better. Virtual and Augmented reality technologies are one of those technologies introduced in 2012 for improving our virtual experiences with the vision to ‘change the world’ for good. Notably AR and VR are all set to become next- gen computing platforms.

In the beginning of the year, Investment bankers, Goldman Sachs claimed via a dubbed video that by 2025, Augmented and Virtual reality technologies market shall reach approximately $80 billion. This is nearly the size of current computing market.

Heather Bellini who is the Business Unit Leader in Telecommunications, Media and Technology for Goldman Sachs believes, “We think this technology has the potential to transform how we interact with almost every industry today, and we think it will be equally transformative both from a consumer and an enterprise perspective.”

VR, AR technology in every hand

Technology is there to make our experiences better, fast and time-saving. VR and AR technologies can be used in a much efficient manner if tried. For instance, in the estate agency business, over the weekend instead of having to go see 50 homes with an agent, you could put on a pair of virtual reality glasses.

You could do a virtual walk-through at your realtor’s office of what those properties look like and then maybe you could eliminate 30 out of 50 houses on your list and be much more efficient with your time.

Heather also said, “At the end of the day we think VR and AR will be as transformation as the Smartphone market.”Recently, even Lenovo’s Vice President, Song Chunyu, AR and VR technology could be next-gen technology platforms.

In the nutshell, we could just wait till AR and VR capture the computing market with its outstanding technical capabilities.
