A case against Dhoni was then filed by Shyam Sunder, the leader of Vishwa Hindu Parishad which claimed that the cover had hurt religious sentiments.
The court where the petition was filed (Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh) had issued a non-bailable warrant against Dhoni for the same. Karnataka High Court had also refused to stall the criminal proceedings against him, after which he took his request to Supreme Court. And a bench headed by Justice Ranjan Gogoi granted him relief on 5th September.
