According to a report of researchers, the sugar consumption is highest in developing countries. They have warned that added sugar of all kinds is rapidly increasing in the diet of the people living in developing nations.
On the other hand, many high income countries can see slight decrease in the consumption of sugar despite being the highest consumer of sweets.
Earlier researches have showed that added sugar can have bad affect on our health as it can increase the risk of weight gain and heart diseases. As it can adversely affect our body, that’s why WHO is promoting major initiatives to reduce its intake.
