Team India opener Shubman Gill continued his ridiculously fantastic start and scored his maiden T20Icentury against New Zealand, and in that process registered the highest individual score by an Indian in the format.
Gill reached the milestone by smashing 12 fours and 7 sixes and ended the innings unbeaten on 126 off 63 deliveries, the highest score by an Indian in the format. Before this, Virat Kohli held the record (122 off 61 against Afghanistan).
‘The future is here’ said the former Indian captain Virat Kohli after seeing Shubman Gill as he broke the latter’s record. And not only this, at the nets for the first time, then-India captain Kohli had said he was nowhere as talented as Gill was at that age when Gill was 19.
