Amit Kumar who excels in Jazz and Hip Hop and has been a part of many reality shows & Bollywood movies, says “For me dance is more about entertaining the audience. If you are able to transfer your message or emotion to the audience and your fun of performing across the stage then I think you are an amazing performer. Mumbai is right now in a hip-hop culture whereas in Delhi we are able to see a lot of dimensions, new techniques, and new dance forms being taken up- whether it is hip-hop or jazz to contemporary and classical. In our times, there was nothing called choreography but the dancers of today have an edge to what we were earlier. Every dancer that we have seen by far has taken some form of training. Delhi is in really good place as of now since here the art of dancing is really picking up and is being seen as a career”

Adding to what Amit has to say, Rahul Goswami, a fluid performaer who is known for his techniques and improvisation score and someone who has brought street dancing/performing onto another level and founder of ICAP- International Cross Art Project says, “It is amazing to witness the kind of versatility we have in Delhi for now. I can see the future of dance through them. They are very ahead to what we were when we just begun, so let see how it goes.” Rahul aims at keep growing and develop niche performances based on improvisations and floor. He would be seen performing at Kamani Auditorium on 8th of April with his new piece called ‘Animal Connect’.

The event also saw performances by the NGO’ dancers and even the enthusiasts who all by themselves earn money to be able to go to a dance training class. What can be much better for a dancer than being on a stage in front of hundreds of audience and lightings that make you the only star, today every performer had the opportunity to feel like a celebrity.
