Snapdeal offers to deliver cash at home: One more way-out from standing in Bank queues
Post November 8th, the entire nation is standing in queue. With everyday changing rules by Reserve Bank of India for depositing and withdrawing cash from the banks, most people are surviving with the help of digital payments which at times become useless when cash in hand is required to make urgent payments. To overcome this issue, Snapdeal has come up with a unique offer to deliver cash at your doorsteps. Yes, Snapdeal offers to deliver cash at home, you heard it right.
India’s leading online shopping platform, Snapdeal has recently launched a pilot service called, ‘Cash@Home’. It allows users to order cash in new currency through Snapdeal and get it delivered at the doorstep. Currently, a pilot phase of the service has been commenced in Gurgaon and Bengaluru where users can pay for cash using their ATM cards.
As per the resources, the service shall be extended to other major cities as well in the coming days. It will depend on the feedback of users to whom the service is currently available and the availability of currency notes with the platform.
A press release was issued by Snapdeal stating that the cash collected during delivering the products via CoD (Cash on Delivery) will be used to provide the service. Only after one day of requesting the service, the delivery of the cash would be done.
2000 rupees per booking can be requested as per the rules laid down for the service. Any bank’s ATM card can be used to make the payment of the cash along with the extra charge of RS. 1 for the service. Customers can pay the required amount either via online payment or through swiping debit card on the PoS machines carried by Snapdeal’s courier carrier during the delivery.
Snapdeal’s Co-founder, Rohit Bansal said, “The launch of the cash on demand service is intended to further help our consumers tide over any cash crunch that they might face in addressing their daily needs.”
