Ramachandra Guha stepped down from the post of BCCI Administrator on Thursday
According to reports, noted historian Ramachandran Guha on Thursday resigned from the post of BCCI Administrator. Guha has reportedly citied a personal reasons for the resignation. Guha moved to Supreme Court and said that he has resigned from the court- appointed panel. Now, he wants Supreme Court to relive him from the CoA.
Notably, he has already informed Supreme Court that he has tendered his resignation to Vinod Rai, the Chairman of the Committee of Administrators appointed by the top court.
The apex is expected to hear Guha’s matter on July 14th. The court has said a special bench was seized of the matter and the petition should therefore be filed in the registry.
According to reports, Advocate Rakesh Sinha, who mentioned the matter before the bench, said he had filed the petition to inform the court about Guha’s decision.
Notably, Guha’s decision has come as a surprise for so many people and the timing of his resignation will surely raise many eyebrows. The decision has come at the time of Asian Champions Trophy 2017 amid a reported rift between Virat Kohli and Anil Kumble.
As per reports, Kohli and Kumble are expected to meet the CoA to discuss the vexed issue of player payments.
