Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently on a three- day visit to Israel. He recently coined a new word by saying ‘I for I’. Here he didn’t refer to traditional phrase eye or eye but he meant Indian and Israel ties.

PM Modi, who arrived in Tel Aviv yesterday for three- day visit, met Rivlin at his residence and thanked him for his warm hospitality and friendship.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “President of Israel welcomed me so warmly that he broke the protocol. It’s the symbol of respect for the people of India.”

Leaders of both the countries met and discussed various issues pertaining to India and Israel.

Here are few things you need to know:

PM Modi who is on a three – day visit to Israel, will today hold back to back meetings with the leaders of Israel to discuss cooperation in defence, security, water and more.

On Tuesday, Mr. Netyanyahu announced a US $40million Innovation Fund for greater cooperation in technology.

  • PM Modi is expected to discuss a plan for Israeli that will in boosting India’s food security.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said it is a “singular honour” to be the first Prime Minister to undertake this groundbreaking visit.
  • In the evening today, PM Modi will address Indian community in the country and Israeli Prime Minister will accompany him.
