PM has not taken single leave since he came into power
PMO response to RTI
PM has not taken single leave since he came into power:- Prime Minister Narendra Modi is one of the best leaders we can have in our country. Narendra Modi’s decisions are always appreciated and supported by people. Recently, his decision for surgical strike was supported by almost every Indian and he was appraised by number of people on social websites (Facebook, Twitter).
After a RTI was filed seeking a copy of leave rules and procedures for the Prime Minister of the country from the PMO and its Cabinet Secretariat, the PMO revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not taken a single leave since he came to power. This shows how dedicatedly PM Modi is working and therefore he is blessed with a huge fan following.
Leave records of former PMs
Responding to RTI applicant, the PMO said that a Prime Minister of India is on duty all the time. He serves the nation wholeheartedly. The applicant also sought leave records of former Prime Ministers Manmohan Singh, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, H D Deve Gowda, I K Gujral, P V Narasimha Rao, Chandrashekhar, V P Singh and Rajiv Gandhi but the PMO said no leave records of the former prime ministers were available.
PMO office said that “Information regarding leave record of previous Prime Ministers is not a part of records held by this office. However, it may be noted that no leave has been availed by present Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi since taking over charge.”
Not only this the applicant filed similar application to other government authorities like Cabinet Secretariat to check if they have any information available about the leave of former prime ministers. However, the application was transferred to home ministry which further sent it to the PMO. Indeed, this is something to admire about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Well it is commendable and we all should learn from him that our work comes first, and we all should make it our first priority.
