Winter session of Parliament can start from Dec 15: Important Highlights
According to reports, Winter Session of Parliament is expected to start from December15 and will end on January 5. Notably, the opposition party has accused government for delaying the winter session because Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other top union ministers are busy campaigning in Gujarat for next month’s elections.
Notably, the results of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh elections will be declared on December 18. As per reports, Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi this week accused the PM of “Sabotage” and said that the government is worried about being held accountable for slow economic growth.
Hitting back to this Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said, “ It’s not uncommon for elections to push back parliament session and Congress was no stranger to this practice when it was in power and promised that the winter session would be called very shortly.”
Notably, the delay in the winter session has evoked war of statements. Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge yesterday said that the Prime Minister is like Brahma. He is the creator….. he alone knows when the session will begin.
The winter session traditionally starts from the third week of November and lasts till the third week of December.
