It entered its orbit on July 5, 2016 and received its first ever images on Friday. The twitter account for Juno tweeted the photo to the world, it read- “A whole new world. My 1st glimpse of #Jupiter’s north pole looks unlike anything seen before http://go.nasa.gov/2bQyC3B .”
Principal investigator of Juno, Scott Bolton said that the images had helped to make several analyses about the planet and that they were looking for more information. He said “It’s bluer in colour up there than other parts of the planet, and there are a lot of storms.” He also added that the images cannot be recognised as Jupiter.
